About
Dare2XL started in 2008 as an idea to bring more fun and love into workplaces, so they became places of enjoyment and growth, rather than places to endure for the sake of a payslip. The idea began with Andrew Hughes, a lawyer who wanted more. Andrew wanted to make a greater contribution to his community, to be fulfilled daily, and to make a real and positive difference to those he worked with. After 15 years in the law, he was looking for something with meaning.
Andrew has been described as a “powerful healer”, a “fantastic motivational speaker”, and a “charismatic and inspirational leader”. As the CEO and founder

of Dare2XL, he is committed to serving his community and the planet by helping individuals and organisations create the life experience of their dreams.
Here is part of his story.
I transformed my life
While it now seems like a lifetime away, it wasn’t all that long ago that I was part of the corporate jungle, managing large teams of up to 70, leading marketing, communication and client relationship building in a $100M plus national law firm. I was part of the senior leadership team and the wonderful teams I lead were performing brilliantly. My star was on the rise.
But not all was as it seemed. The truth was:
In 2006 I began to reflect deeply on where I was heading in life, the behaviour I was modelling for my children and the lack of fulfilment and sense of purpose my occupation brought me. Sure I was on the “up-and-up” with an assured future on a great income, but the greatest regret of all is to live a life that has no meaning.
I knew I needed a change, but one thought continued to trouble me – after 15 years in the legal industry, what else could I do?
Dreams require action
Dreams require action, so in 2007 my family and I made some life-changing decisions, including quitting the legal industry cold turkey, leaving our dream home, and creating something we were passionate about. A large part of that was focusing on how I could best serve my family, my community, humanity and the planet. For me the answer is helping people transform their lives so they can radically improve their life experience, be transformational leaders of themselves and others, all the while being more of who they are. From there, Dare2XL essentially named and created itself.
In a few short years, I went from having one foot in my grave to living the life of my dreams, earning up to $40,000 per month doing what I love, and experiencing a deep sense of connection and wellbeing in my life. My digestive problems and migraines disappeared, my children tell me I am a better dad, and the passion with my wife burns brighter than ever. Life is great.
Life is about living. In years to come, when I reflect back on this journey, I know that I’ll be able to say ‘I gave it all I had. No regrets’.
All stories have a beginning
Andrew started his professional career as a chartered accountant before completing his law degree in the early 90s. His robust style naturally drew him to litigation and advocacy, and he moved from private practice to AGS (a national law firm) in the late 90s. He attained partner level at age 35 and, using his relationship-building skills, began to stretch out of legal practice. In 2004 he became the practice manager for a litigation team of 70 before ultimately becoming the head ‘client partner’ and assuming responsibility for the national marketing function. He was part of AGS senior executive, and was known for his strong and dynamic leadership.
Andrew’s career has always been marked by his ability to build lasting, loyal and rewarding relationships that translate into dynamic teams and high performance.
By always looking to grow as a person and by taking absolute responsibility for the results in his life, Andrew achieves continuous success in his professional and personal life. He is passionate about helping others do the same.
One last word
In life, you can be one of 2 things: an inspiration or a warning.
I choose the former.
To your success
