Training Approach
Success is 80% attitude, and only 20% aptitude
Dare2XL Training Programs are designed to operate at a deeper level, addressing the foundations that drive behaviour. When empowering decisions and choices are made at this level, real change occurs and this leads to long-term improvement. The model below is the basis for all Dare2XL Training Programs.

By fully recognising, understanding and choosing how we think, feel and act, we can better shape our interactions with others and our understanding of ourselves. This defines how and what we learn, allows us to set priorities, and determines the majority of our daily actions. It becomes even more powerful in the context of expanding our ideas about who we are and what is possible.
Being vs Doing
We are all driven by a desire for ‘better’ outcomes, whether in our professional or private lives. You might think that the easiest next step is to increase your skills, adding to the arsenal on your tool belt. This approach can be successful, but very often is not. Why? Because skills-based training isn’t designed to address the underlying issues that are stopping you from getting the results you want. It’s limited in what it can do.
Just as buying a better plough is unlikely to help a farmer during a drought, getting more skills is unlikely to have a significant or long-term impact if you are unmotivated, disengaged in what you are doing, or plagued by self-sabotaging beliefs.
Asking the right questions
To give yourself the best opportunity to experience success in whatever area you wish to focus on, the crucial questions then become:
- What matters to me in life (health, career, relationships)?
- What drives my behaviour in empowering and disempowering ways?
- What beliefs and behaviours serve or hinder me?
- What would I like to be, do and have?
- Why are we here (as individuals and and as a team)?
- Why do we want to stay?
- How do we create the environment that will enable us to produce our best results as a team?
- What unique contribution can each of us make to the team’s success?
- How do I become excited and passionate about what I do so that I might inspire others?
- What is the impact of my behaviour on the internal state (and consequently the results) of others?
- What can I do to improve my way of being, and have a more empowering impact on those around me?
